They suit large-fish fishing in both freshwater and saltwater. Supported uses include octopus-style teasers on pirk rigs for cod and other large marine predators, plus baitfish and catfish pellets for freshwater catfish, so the same hook model can serve both types of setup.
The wide gape and sharply inward-curving point help the hook point turn into the fish's mouth during a bite. This supports a largely self-hooking action, making that hooking behaviour a reason to choose this circle pattern rather than a conventional J-hook.
Hook size is the stated difference: 4/0 is the smallest, 6/0 the middle option and 8/0 the largest. All share the same supported applications and construction, so select by the size your bait or teaser and rig require. Each pack contains six hooks in that size.

The Gamakatsu Octopus 4 Strong Circle Hook is a single circle hook for large fish in freshwater and saltwater. Its wide gape and sharply inward-curving point help the point turn into the fish's mouth during a bite, supporting a largely self-hooking action.
For offshore fishing, these hooks suit teasers such as octopus imitations on pirk rigs for cod and other large marine predators. In freshwater, they suit catfish fishing with baitfish and catfish pellets. The sharp point and strong construction are suited to tackling large cod and catfish.
The range includes 4/0, 6/0 and 8/0. The 4/0 is the smallest option, 6/0 sits between them and 8/0 is the largest. Choose the size to match your bait or teaser and rig, rather than a different stated fishing application, as all three share the same supported uses and construction. Each pack contains six circle hooks in the selected size.
