Gamakatsu Hyper Ez Snap: quick lure changes with a safety closure

The Gamakatsu Hyper Ez Snap is a lure clip for spinning for pike and zander with wobblers, softbaits and spoons. Its opening closure lets you change lures quickly and easily. A safety hook is designed to help prevent accidental opening during active lure fishing.

Main line or leader attachment

The snap can be tied directly to the main line or fitted to a wire leader or another leader line. This lets you use the same quick-change connection with different line and leader setups. Its sturdy construction and high strength ratings are intended to withstand the fight with powerful pike. The supplier describes the colour as stainless black nickel.

Frequently asked

Which lures and target fish is the Hyper Ez Snap intended for?

It is intended for spinning for pike and zander with wobblers, softbaits and spoons. The opening clip allows quick changes between these lure types without retying the connection each time.

Can I attach the snap to a leader as well as the main line?

Yes. It can be tied directly to the main line or fitted to a wire leader or another leader line. You can therefore retain quick lure changes with either a direct main-line connection or a leader setup.

What helps prevent accidental opening?

The snap has a safety hook designed to help prevent the closure opening accidentally during active predator fishing. This provides a secured connection while retaining the ability to open the clip for lure changes, rather than a permanently closed connection.

How do the sizes and pack quantities differ?

Size #08 is rated to 11 kg, #1 to 15 kg, #2 to 23 kg, #3 to 35 kg and #4 to 48 kg, each with 7 snaps. Size #5 is rated to 54 kg with 6 snaps and #6 to 65 kg with 5 snaps. Compare the size and strength needed for your setup, noting that the two highest-rated versions contain fewer snaps.
