Gamakatsu G-Carp Specialist Hook: eyed hooks for carp fishing

The Gamakatsu G-Carp Specialist Hook is a black carp hook with sturdy construction, a large bend and a sharp point. The sharp point helps penetration when setting the hook, while the sturdy construction is designed for the demands of carp fishing.

Shape and attachment

The large hook bend provides space between the shank and point. An eye provides the attachment point for tying the hook to your line or hooklink. All four sizes share these features and the black colour.

Choosing a size

The range comprises #1, #4, #6 and #8. In conventional hook sizing, #1 is the largest of these options, followed by #4 and #6, with #8 the smallest. Choose the size to suit your intended bait and rig, balancing a larger hook against a smaller profile. The supplier does not specify bait sizes or particular rig patterns for individual variants.

Pack contents

Each pack contains 10 hooks in the selected size, not an assortment of sizes.

Frequently asked

How do the four hook sizes differ?

#1 is the largest option, followed by #4 and #6, with #8 the smallest. All share the large bend, sharp point, eye and black colour. Choose by the hook size your bait and rig require, as the supplier gives no variant-specific bait or rig recommendations.

How is the hook attached?

The hook has an eye for tying it to your line or hooklink. It is an eyed carp hook rather than a spade-end pattern, so choose a tying method suitable for an eyed hook.
