Choose #4 for larger baits and fish, #6 for mixed conditions, or #8 for smaller baits and smaller trout. The thinner line on larger hooks (#8) is ideal for shy or heavily pressured fish.
Most Spirolino systems have a loop or clip at the end of the main line. Tie a loop knot at the start of your leader (or use the existing loop if present), then attach it to your Spirolino's connection point with a simple knot or loop-to-loop connection.
Transparent monofilament is nearly invisible underwater, making trout less cautious and more likely to take your bait confidently. This is especially important in clear water or when fish are pressured.
