The 3.66 m rods offer 3.25lb, 3.5lb or 4lb and weigh 370, 400 or 420 g respectively. The 3.96 m rods offer 3.5lb or 4lb at 445 or 475 g. Choose by length and test curve, keeping the extra weight of the longer versions in mind.
All versions have two sections. Allow 187 cm for the 3.66 m rods or 203 cm for the 3.96 m rods when choosing rod luggage and planning transport.
The quick-recovering carbon blank supports casting distance and accuracy. Delta-Lite guides are designed to reduce line wraps, while the double-leg 50 mm butt guide and 30 mm second guide add strength where the larger guides sit.

The Fox Horizon X5 Black carp rods are designed for accurate distance casting and controlled fish playing in freshwater. Their quick-recovering carbon blanks help improve casting distance and accuracy while retaining a responsive playing action.
An update to the Horizon X5-S, the X5 Black uses multiple multidirectional layers of thinner ultra-high-modulus carbon cloth with nanofibre technology and interlaminar resin. The layers are electro-bonded during curing to create a stronger, lighter, slimmer and more powerful blank. A 1k carbon wrap and additional carbon reinforcement at every push-over joint support strength under load.
Matt black American Tackle Delta-Lite guides run from 50 mm to 16 mm and are designed to reduce line wraps during casting. The 50 mm butt guide and 30 mm second guide have double-leg frames for strength. An 18 mm DPS American Tackle reel seat holds the reel, with an EVA comfort foregrip above it for handling. Full Japanese shrink-wrap handles, black collars and end caps complete the understated finish.
