Size #7 is smaller and lighter, ideal for smaller baits and finesse presentations on cautious carp. Size #8B offers more bite surface for larger boilies and heavier baits, better suited for aggressive carp fishing and specimen hunters. Both deliver the same Armapoint sharpness and hard-mono compatibility.
Barbless hooks have no barb on the point, making them mandatory in some waters and easier on fish for catch-and-release. The barbed version (#7) retains fish more securely but requires careful handling. Choose barbless if your waters require it or you practice catch-and-release; choose barbed for maximum security with large carp.
These hooks are specifically engineered for hard-mono systems (the 25° outturned eye is the key design feature). That said, they work perfectly well with standard monofilament, braid, or fluorocarbon leaders. You simply benefit most from their design when using hard-mono rig setups.
The Armapoint is a specialized point geometry designed to maximize penetration with minimal resistance. It delivers exceptional self-hooking effect (fish hook themselves with rod movement), reduces the force needed to set the hook, and improves landing rates—crucial when targeting large carp on sensitive presentations.
