Yes. The supplier specifies offshore natural-bait rigs and pirking for cod, halibut and other large sea predators, including Norway and Iceland. You can use the same snap-swivel design for either method, choosing the size and breaking strength for your setup.
No. Ratings range from 12 kg in size #12 to 72 kg in #3/0. Sizes #6 and #7 are both rated at 20 kg, while #1/0 is rated at 65 kg. Check the selected size’s own rating rather than relying on the range maximum.
The safety snap is designed to prevent accidental opening while fishing and fighting a fish. It provides the rig connection, but it does not replace checking the individual swivel’s breaking-strength rating.
Each pack contains five black snap swivels in the selected variant. You receive one size and strength per pack, not an assortment of the nine variants.

These black snap swivels are built for offshore fishing for cod, halibut and other large marine predators, including trips to Norway and Iceland. Their sturdy construction is intended for fighting powerful fish, while the safety snap is designed to prevent accidental opening during fishing and the fight.
The swivels can be used with natural-bait rigs and for pirking. The safety snap provides the closure for attaching the rig or pirk, so the same swivel design covers both methods.
The nine variants differ in size and stated breaking strength. Choose the required size and check its individual rating rather than treating the family maximum of 72 kg as the rating of every variant.
Size | Breaking strength |
|---|---|
#12 | 12 kg |
#10 | 15 kg |
#7 | 20 kg |
#6 | 20 kg |
#3 | 25 kg |

Sizes #6 and #7 have the same 20 kg rating but different size designations. Size #3/0 offers the highest stated rating in this range at 72 kg. These are swivel ratings, not fish-weight limits.
Each pack contains five black snap swivels in the selected size and strength.
