DAM QUICK NOVA: freshwater fishing with line already spooled

The DAM QUICK NOVA spinning reels are made for all-round freshwater fishing, including lure and predator fishing. Each graphite spool comes pre-spooled with monofilament, so you do not need to load line before assembling your fishing setup. The FD (front drag) system provides smooth, adjustable line release during the fight.

Construction and handling

The tough graphite body and rotor form the reel's structure, while one steel bearing supports its running mechanism. The front drag uses felt, and an on/off switch lets you engage or disengage the instant anti-reverse. The handle can be fitted on either side to suit right- or left-hand winding.

Choose by line diameter, weight and retrieve

All seven sizes share this construction, but differ in supplied line, weight, gearing, retrieve and line capacity. The 1000 and 2000 both carry 0.20 mm mono and are the lightest versions, at 229 g and 237 g. The 1000 is explicitly offered for perch and trout. The 3000 carries 0.28 mm mono and weighs 267 g. Its supplier lists perch, trout, zander, eel, carp, tench, bream and roach for all-round use.

The 3000 and 4000 are explicitly listed for active spinning and stationary bottom fishing. The 4000, 5000 and 6000 are offered for pike and carp, with the 6000 described for both lure fishing and stationary bait presentations. Their supplied mono increases from 0.30 mm to 0.35 mm and 0.40 mm, while weight rises from 280 g to 381 g and 401 g. Do I need to spool line before using the reel?

No. Every QUICK NOVA comes with monofilament on its graphite spool. The 1000 and 2000 carry 0.20 mm, the 3000 0.28 mm, the 4000 0.30 mm, the 5000 0.35 mm, and the 6000 and 8000 0.40 mm. Choose the supplied diameter to suit your setup. Spool capacity figures do not confirm the length supplied.

Which sizes should I compare for my fishing?

For perch and trout, the supplier explicitly lists the 1000 and 3000. The 2000 also offers 0.20 mm mono at 237 g for the family's all-round and lure use. The 3000 adds broader all-round species coverage with 0.28 mm mono at 267 g. Compare the 4000, 5000 and 6000 for the stated pike and carp use, and the 8000 for carp. Check the capacity table as well as weight, since the 8000 reaches 640 g.

Can I wind with either hand and switch off anti-reverse?

Yes. All sizes have a right/left handle position and instant anti-reverse with an on/off switch. Fit the handle on your preferred side and use the switch to engage or disengage anti-reverse. The front drag remains the system for controlling line release during the fight.

Does the gear ratio alone tell me how much line I retrieve?

No. The 1000 to 4000 all have 5.2:1 gearing, but their stated retrieves range from 64 to 83.7 cm per turn. The 5000 and 6000 use 5.0:1 and retrieve 83.7 and 89.5 cm, while the 8000 uses 4.1:1 and retrieves 89 cm. Compare retrieve per turn directly when choosing how much line each handle turn recovers.
