Black Cat Stone Rig Line — biodegradable sisal cord for catfish stone rigs

The Black Cat Stone Rig Line is a natural-fibre sisal cord designed for tying stone rigs and sinker rigs (back lead rigs) when targeting Wels catfish. After the fight the line is left behind on the bottom, where it dissolves completely and in an environmentally friendly manner within a few days.

Purpose-built for stone rigs

Stone rigs use a heavy natural stone as a non-retrievable weight, held by a breakable binding cord. The Stone Rig Line is engineered exactly for this job: strong enough to hold the stone through casting and the initial take, yet biodegradable so nothing persistent is left in the water.

Natural sisal fibres

Made from sisal, the cord offers excellent knotting properties and a high breaking strength under dry conditions. Once submerged for a few days the fibres break down naturally, which is why Black Cat recommends keeping the spool dry until the session.

Two diameters for different weights

The 2 mm version on a 100 m spool suits medium stones and everyday Wels fishing; the thicker 3.2 mm version on a 70 m spool gives extra reserves when binding larger stones or fishing heavier current. Choose the diameter according to the size and weight of the stone you plan to tie.
