A U-Float (underwater float) sits below the surface rather than on top of the water. It is mounted on the leader to add buoyancy to your bait presentation, keeping the bait at a desired depth while creating attractive movement in the current. This is particularly effective for catfish angling.
Choose based on current strength and bait size. The 5g version suits lighter rigs and calmer waters. The 7g offers a good all-round balance. The 10g provides maximum buoyancy for heavier rigs or stronger currents where more lift is needed.
Head-first mounting creates a discreet, subtle swirling motion above the bait, best suited for slow currents. Stem-first mounting exposes the mushroom head to the full current, generating a stronger swirling movement, recommended for fast-flowing waters.
The Mushroom U-Float is made from Rohacell® foam, a high-performance rigid foam that is virtually indestructible and extremely buoyant. It is handmade in Germany.
Both the black and red versions perform identically. Colour choice is primarily a matter of personal preference. Some anglers prefer red for better underwater visibility when checking their rig, while black offers a more discreet profile.
