The Black Cat Mega Jighead is a heavy-duty jig head for targeting catfish with large softbaits and other catfish lures. Its very strong, extremely sharp forged steel hook is designed to resist deformation under the loads of playing catfish. A lure keeper holds the body in position during the retrieve, including faster jigging movements.
Both hook sizes are available in 20, 40 and 60 g. Choose 20 g for shallower water and calmer areas, 40 g for intermediate conditions, or 60 g for deeper water and stronger current where a lighter head drifts away too readily. The weight lets you adapt the presentation for working near the bottom or jigging through midwater.
Size 10/0 uses 2.4 mm steel wire, while size 12/0 uses 2.6 mm steel wire. The larger size therefore also has a thicker hook. Both are designed for catfish and fit many common catfish lures. Select the hook size to suit the lure body, then choose the weight for the water conditions.
