The design draws on fast-swimming and diving trolling lures and surface-skipping lures. Its 6X wire construction suits these demanding predator lure applications, so select the hook size to match your lure setup.
Yes. Bright-Tin coating provides protection for harsh saltwater conditions. The slim-profile Slim-Ring eye makes split-ring attachment easier, allowing the hook to be connected to a lure through a split ring. Select the appropriate hook size for that setup.
The straight point is intended to improve hook-ups when a fish only nips at the lure. The pronounced bend and oversized barb help keep the hook in place during prolonged fights. This is a barbed hook, not a barbless option.
Sizes #1 and #2 contain 7 hooks each. Sizes #1/0 to #4/0 contain 6 each, #5/0 and #6/0 contain 5 each, and #7/0 contains 4. All share the same construction features, so choose the required hook size first and then check the pack quantity.

The BKK VIPER-61 is a treble hook made from 6X wire for predator lure fishing, including saltwater use. Its design draws on experience with fast-swimming and diving trolling lures and surface-skipping lures. A straight point is intended to improve hook-ups when fish only nip at the lure, while the pronounced bend and oversized barb help retain the hook during prolonged fights.
The Slim-Ring process gives the eye a slim profile, making it easier to fit a split ring when attaching the hook to a lure. The Bright-Tin coating provides durable protection in harsh saltwater conditions. These construction features are shared across the range.
The VIPER-61 extends the BKK-Viper-41 design, which received the Japanese Good Design Award in 2023. The award reference concerns the predecessor, not the VIPER-61.
Choose the hook size required by your lure setup rather than selecting by pack count. Sizes #1 and #2 each contain 7 hooks. Sizes #1/0, #2/0, #3/0 and #4/0 each contain 6 hooks. Sizes #5/0 and #6/0 each contain 5 hooks, while #7/0 contains 4 hooks. Hook size and quantity are the differences within this family, with the same 6X wire, straight point, oversized barb, Slim-Ring eye and Bright-Tin coating throughout.
