It is developed for slow jigging at sea. Its bright tin coating protects against saltwater corrosion and helps preserve sharpness, so it is suited to this saltwater technique. The coating is corrosion protection, not a guarantee that corrosion cannot occur.
Choose the hook size your setup requires. #1 and #1/0 each contain 9 hooks, #2/0 contains 8, #3/0 contains 7 and #4/0 contains 6. All share the same stated design features. No jig-weight or species-specific size guidance is supplied, so pack quantity alone should not determine the size choice.
The wide gap and short shank ease penetration, and the Cutting-Delta point further reduces penetration resistance. This is useful during slow jigging when only light pressure reaches the hook. These features are shared by every available size, so you do not need to change sizes to obtain them.

The BKK GAFF-R is a sea-fishing hook developed for slow jigging. Its wide gap and short shank help it penetrate under light pressure, while the Cutting-Delta point further reduces penetration resistance. These features support hook penetration when little pressure reaches the hook.
The bright tin coating protects the hook against saltwater corrosion and helps preserve its sharpness. All five sizes share this coating, the wide bend, short shank and Cutting-Delta point.
Choose the hook size required by your setup, then check the pack quantity. The available variants differ in size and number of hooks supplied:
Hook size | Hooks per pack |
|---|---|
#1 | 9 |
#1/0 | 9 |
#2/0 | 8 |
#3/0 | 7 |
#4/0 | 6 |
Pack quantity decreases from #2/0 upwards, so the larger sizes provide fewer hooks per pack. The supplier does not specify jig-weight compatibility or species-specific size guidance.
