Yes. Berkley specifies fresh- and saltwater use for the thermally fused PE line, so either water type is supported. Choose the diameter and breaking strain for your setup and obstacles, rather than treating saltwater suitability as a strength rating.
Choose them as a pair. The range runs from 0.12 mm at 2.7 kg to 0.35 mm at 22.6 kg, with five steps between them. Finer versions suit lighter setups, while stronger versions also have a larger diameter. All seven combinations are available in each spool length, so decide the strength first and the quantity second.
The 135 m and 275 m versions are filler spools, while the 2000 m version is a bulk spool. Each contains one spool of line, and equivalent versions have the same diameter and breaking strain. Choose a filler spool for the amount your reel needs or the bulk spool for several fills.
It provides greater abrasion resistance than regular braided lines. This reduces line breakage from contact with rocks, mussels, timber or heavy vegetation, making it useful around cover. It is not a guarantee against breakage, so the chosen breaking strain still matters.
The slick surface reduces noise through the rod guides, while slight stiffness helps with knot tying and longer casts with fewer wind knots and tangles. Minimal stretch also helps transmit subtle bites, so the handling benefits do not come from a stretchy line.

Berkley Flex Braid is a thermally fused polyethylene (PE) fishing line for lure fishing in fresh and salt water. Its minimal stretch helps transmit subtle bites and bottom contact when spinning or jigging. All variants are Moss Green, with a choice of seven diameter and breaking-strain combinations and three spool lengths.
The fused construction offers greater abrasion resistance than regular braided lines, reducing the risk of line breakage around rocks, mussels, timber and heavy vegetation. This matters when the line rubs against underwater obstacles, but abrasion resistance does not mean the line cannot break.
A slick surface reduces noise as the line passes through the rod guides, useful when fishing for wary predators. Its slight stiffness helps with knot tying and easy, longer casts, while reducing wind knots and tangles. Minimal stretch keeps small bites perceptible rather than cushioning them.
The same combinations are available in every spool length:
| Advertised diameter | Breaking strain | | --- | --- | | 0.12 mm | 2.7 kg (6 lb) | | 0.14 mm | 3.6 kg (8 lb) | | 0.18 mm | 4.5 kg (10 lb) | | 0.20 mm | 6.8 kg (15 lb) | | 0.22 mm | 9 kg (20 lb) | | 0.25 mm | 13.6 kg (30 lb) | | 0.35 mm | 22.6 kg (50 lb) |
The finer options offer a smaller diameter for lighter predator setups. Moving up the range increases breaking strain but also line thickness. Choose the combination to match the strength needed for your setup and the obstacles at your fishing spot, rather than selecting by spool length alone. The family covers predator fishing for perch, zander and pike, without making every strength equally suitable for each fish or setup.
Each variant contains one spool. The 135 m and 275 m versions are filler spools, so choose according to the amount needed to fill your reel. The 2000 m bulk spool provides line for repeated fills or several reels. Changing spool length does not change the diameter or breaking strain of an equivalent version.
