Yes. It is intended for trout bottom rigs in ponds and lakes, including buoyant baits. The lead ball rests on the bed while the bait can rise above it, so you can use this weight for a buoyant-bait bottom presentation.
Thread the main line through the metal eye. It functions as a running weight rather than a fixed attachment. The wooden stem stands upright above the lead ball, allowing line to pass through the raised eye when a trout takes line from the reel.
The available weights are 5, 8, 10, 12, 15, 20, 25 and 30 g. All have a lead ball, an upright wooden stem and a free-running metal eye. Choose by the weight needed for your bottom rig. The operating principle remains the same.
Neither. The stated contents are one Bodentaster in the selected weight, not an assortment or a complete rig. Select each weight you need separately and use it as the running weight in your own trout bottom rig.

The Balzer Trout Attack Bodentaster is a bottom weight for trout fishing in ponds and lakes, including rigs with buoyant baits. Its lead ball rests on the bed while the wooden stem stands upright, holding the metal line eye above the bottom.
Thread the main line through the metal eye at the opposite end of the stem from the lead ball. The line can run freely through this raised eye when a trout takes the bait and pulls line from the reel. The lead ball stays on the bottom while the line passes through the eye.
Choose from 5, 8, 10, 12, 15, 20, 25 and 30 g to match the weight needed for your bottom rig. Weight is the documented difference between variants. All use the same lead-ball, upright-stem and running-eye construction. Each pack contains one Bodentaster in the selected weight.
