The Balzer Shirasu Cork Screw Spirals are soft-bait screws designed to build effective predator rigs fast — no lead head needed, perfect for working lures at a dead-slow pace through shallow water.
Without a jig head weighing the rig down, the Cork Screw system lets you crawl a soft bait just beneath the surface, over submerged timber, and through shallow flats where pike lie in ambush. This makes it an excellent choice whenever fish are holding high in the water column or in areas too shallow for conventional jig heads.
Simply thread a stinger hook onto the spiral, then screw the whole assembly into your soft bait — the rig is ready in seconds. The coiled design grips the bait firmly, keeps the stinger correctly positioned, and reduces short strikes from pike that swipe at the tail.
The Cork Screw Spirals come in three sizes to match your soft-bait selection. Pair size to lure length and target conditions for the best fit:
S (Small) — current product: ideal for smaller shads and paddle tails (roughly 8–12 cm), finesse pike fishing in very shallow margins, and situations where a compact rig is needed
M (Medium): suits mid-sized soft baits (roughly 12–16 cm), all-round shallow-water pike rigs
L (Large): designed for large shads and bigger soft baits (16 cm+), open-water shallow pike or zander presentations
