Balzer Pike Collector Shad: strong action on a steady retrieve

The Balzer Pike Collector Shad is a 20cm, 45g softbait for pike and large zander, including pelagic zander fishing. The supplier also tags it as a catfish lure. It produces strong pressure waves even under a light pull, so its action does not depend on an aggressive retrieve.

Retrieve and visual target

The lure rolls strongly from side to side and can be fished with a simple, steady retrieve. Its sealed, ultraviolet (UV)-active reptile eyes give predators a visual target to aim at. These eyes are a shared feature of every colour, not just versions with UV in their colour name.

Choose your colour

All eleven versions share the same 20cm length, 45g weight and action. The available colours are Albino, Hecht, Salt'n Pepper, UV Chub, UV Perch, UV Pike, Regenbogenforelle, Hot Olive, Weissfisch, Barsch and Fire Shark. Choose between colour patterns without changing the lure's size or weight. No colour-specific fishing conditions are stated by the supplier.

Supplied quantity

Each purchase contains one softbait in the selected colour, rather than a colour assortment.

Frequently asked

Is the Pike Collector Shad only for pike?

No. The supplier also specifies large zander, including pelagic presentations, and tags it as a catfish lure. Its 20cm length and 45g weight make it a substantial lure, not a small finesse option.

Do I need to work the lure aggressively?

No. It produces strong pressure waves under a light pull and rolls strongly on a steady retrieve. You can therefore simply wind it in without needing an elaborate retrieve sequence.

What changes between the colours, and how many lures are included?

Only the colour choice differs in the supplied specifications. All eleven versions are 20cm long, weigh 45g and have sealed UV-active reptile eyes. You receive one lure in your chosen colour, so select individual colours rather than expecting an assortment.

Are the eyes UV-active on colours without UV in the name?

Yes. Every colour has sealed UV-active reptile eyes that serve as a visual target for predators. You do not need to choose a UV-named colour to get this eye feature, which does not establish that the whole body is UV-active.
