Choose S with hook size #6 for baitfish approximately 5–8 cm long, M with #4 for 9–13 cm, or L with #2 for 14–20 cm. Every version is 70cm long with a 9kg breaking strain, so match the size to your baitfish rather than looking for a stronger trace.
The single hook holds the baitfish during the cast rather than hooking the pike. Place it in the baitfish's lip so it takes the pulling force and prevents the bait from bunching up during powerful casts. In large baitfish it may be buried fully in the head, as the two trebles are the catching hooks.
It is designed for pike fishing with dead baitfish at long range and is well suited to leger rigs. The holding hook takes the load during powerful casts, making this system a choice for setups where the baitfish needs to be cast a long way.
You receive one long-cast system in the selected size, fitted with one holding single hook and two catching trebles. S, M and L are separate choices, not a mixed-size pack.

The Balzer Matzes Weitwurfsystem is a steel pike trace for fishing with dead baitfish at long range, particularly on leger rigs. A single hook holds the bait during powerful casts, taking the pulling force so the baitfish does not bunch up. Two sharp, strong treble hooks provide the hooking points for the pike.
Place the single hook in the baitfish's lip so it takes the load during the cast. With large baitfish, it can be buried completely in the head because it is a holding hook, not a hook intended to catch the predator. The two trebles fulfil that role.
All versions are 70cm long with a 9kg breaking strain. Choose by baitfish length and the corresponding hook size, not by leader strength.
S, hook size #6: for baitfish approximately 5–8 cm long.
M, hook size #4: for baitfish approximately 9–13 cm long.
L, hook size #2: for baitfish approximately 14–20 cm long.
The larger versions accommodate longer baitfish while retaining the same trace length and breaking strain. Each pack contains one long-cast system in the selected size.
