Choose the 7.5 cm stinger with a #2 treble for 13–15 cm shads, or the 9 cm stinger with a #1 treble for 16–18 cm shads. The longer version also has a larger hook, so match both wire length and hook size to your lure.
Insert a hook point into the softbait's body with the treble positioned towards the tail, then connect the wire loop to the hook system of the jig head or rig. This places an extra hook behind the main hook for bites further back on the shad.
