Gear ratio (5.2:1 on smaller models, 6.2:1 on mid-to-large sizes) affects retrieval speed and power balance.
ZENON reels are designed for freshwater predator fishing but feature saltwater-resistant components. For extended saltwater use, rinse after each session. The carbon matrix drag and sealed bearing system provide good corrosion resistance.
Rinse with fresh water after use, especially after saltwater exposure. Store in a cool, dry place. Periodically apply reel oil to the gear system and bearing areas. Check the drag setting monthly during regular use to ensure consistent performance and maximize the lifespan of the carbon matrix drag.
