The Abu Garcia Zenon MG-LTX is a compact low-profile baitcasting reel for freshwater finesse fishing. Its Super Lightweight Concept (SLC™) spool and hybrid ceramic bearings support light lure presentations, while the compact body keeps the reel comfortable in the hand.
The MG-LTX-L has a left-hand handle, while the MG-LTX has a right-hand handle. Choose according to the hand you use to wind, rather than a difference in gearing or capacity. Both versions have an 8.3:1 gear ratio and retrieve 78 cm per handle turn, helping you take up slack quickly between lure movements. Instant Anti-Reverse provides immediate handle engagement.
The IVCB-4™ centrifugal braking system controls the spool during casting. The aluminum spool combines the SLC™ concept with the Infini II™ spool design. There are 11 bearings in total: eight stainless steel HPCR™ bearings, one roller bearing and two additional CeramiLite Spool Bearings.
The Carbon Matrix™ carbon-fiber drag is adjusted with a carbon star drag and has a specified maximum drag of 5.2 kg. This fish-playing drag is separate from the centrifugal casting brake, so the two systems serve different adjustments.
A one-piece X-Mag™ alloy frame and C6 carbon sideplates form the compact body. The recessed reel foot lowers the reel's position on the rod, and the compact bent carbon handle uses a custom lightweight design. The main gear is aircraft-grade aluminum. A titanium-coated line guide reduces friction and improves durability where the line passes through the reel. A lube port provides access for lubrication.
