Match your lures to the stated rating. The 642L covers 2–10 g and the 702L covers 3–15 g, while the 842HP covers 35–100 g. Medium Light, Medium and Medium Heavy models fill the intervening ranges. Compare both limits, since a higher maximum does not make a rod suitable for the lightest lures.
Yes. The Seaguide XOG anti-tangle guides are specified as suitable for braid, so you can choose these rods for a braided-line lure setup. Select the rod's length and lure rating separately to suit your fishing.
No. The 902ML and 1002M are specified as Moderate Fast, while the other listed versions are Fast. Compare the model-specific action rather than relying on the general series description when choosing the rod's response.
All versions have two sections, with transport lengths from 104 cm for the 642L to 156 cm for the 1002M. Check the individual transport length against your vehicle or rod storage. A cloth bag is specified for the ten versions with stated rod weights. Bag information is not supplied for the 822H, 842HP or 902M.
Every version has a hook keeper for easy, secure lure attachment. Use that dedicated attachment point when the lure is not being fished, rather than leaving it loose beside the rod.

Abu Garcia Veritas spinning rods are designed for predator anglers using a variety of lure techniques. Their lightweight, responsive 30T carbon blanks provide sensitivity for following the lure and detecting bites. The range spans 1.93–3.04 m and lure ratings from 2–10 g to 35–100 g, so choose the rod around the weight of the lures you intend to fish.
Lightweight Seaguide XOG anti-tangle guides provide line guidance and are suitable for braided line. The 642L, 702L, 702M and 742ML have eight guides including the tip, while the 802M, 802MH, 902ML, 902MH, 902H and 1002M have nine. Stainless steel XOG guides and solid carbon tips are specified for the 822H, 842HP and 902M.
The lightweight, open-design reel seat is comfortable to hold and supports the rod's sensitivity during lure fishing. OVS seats are specified for the 642L, 702L, 702M, 742ML and 802M. The 802MH, 902ML, 902MH, 902H and 1002M use MVS Type seats. All versions have split grips made from high-density EVA (ethylene-vinyl acetate) and a hook keeper for easy, secure lure attachment between casts. The rods are black.
Use the lure rating as the first selection criterion, then compare length, power and action. The two Light versions cover the smallest lure weights, with the 642L offering a shorter rod than the 702L. The Medium Light versions offer different combinations of length and action. The 742ML is shorter and Fast, while the 902ML is longer and Moderate Fast. The Medium rods bridge the light and heavier lure ranges. The 702M and 802M share a 7–28 g rating but differ in length, while the 902M starts at 10 g. The 1002M is the longest version and has a Moderate Fast action.
For heavier lures, the 802MH and 902MH combine Medium Heavy power with ratings starting at 8 g. The 902H starts at 20 g and reaches 60 g. The 822H covers 40–80 g, while the Heavy Plus 842HP offers the highest upper rating at 100 g. These higher ratings allow heavier lures but do not cover the lightest lures supported by the Light and Medium Light rods.
