The SH models use 6.2:1 gearing instead of 5.2:1. The 2000SH retrieves 80 cm, the 2500SH 83 cm and the 3000SH 89 cm per turn, compared with 63, 69 and 64 cm for their standard counterparts. Choose SH for more line pickup at the same winding pace, and compare its line capacity before choosing your line.
The 2500 holds 220 m of 0.20 mm mono and retrieves 69 cm per turn. The 2500S and 2500SH both hold 190 m of 0.15 mm mono, but retrieve 69 and 83 cm respectively. Their listed weights are 1219, 220 and 221 g respectively. Choose by required line capacity, winding pace and the weight your setup can accommodate.
All versions support a right/left handle position, so you can use your preferred winding hand. Each has an aluminium spool but no spare spool. A second preloaded spool for changing lines is therefore not included.

The Abu Garcia SUPERIOR2 is an all-round freshwater spinning reel with nine stainless steel bearings and one roller bearing for smooth operation. Its A-Symmetric Carbon+Graphite frame and A-Symmetric V-Rotor design use lightweight materials, continuing the SUPERIOR family's focus on durability and reliability. All nine versions share the same construction, but differ in size, gearing, line capacity, retrieve and weight.
The AMG 2 gearing system handles the retrieve, while the Rocket line management™ system manages line on the aluminium V-Spool. Instant Anti-Reverse prevents the handle from turning backwards. The Carbon Matrix™ front drag controls line release under load, with the maximum drag varying by model. A carbon handle with a soft-touch knob provides a comfortable contact point during repeated retrieves. The handle can be used on the right or left, so you can match it to your preferred winding hand.
The 5.2:1 versions retrieve 58–80 cm per handle turn, depending on size. The 6.2:1 SH versions retrieve 80–89 cm per turn, taking up more line at the same winding pace. Within the 2000 and 2500 sizes, the SH models combine faster gearing with a lower stated monofilament capacity than the standard models. The 2500S shares the 2500SH's 190 m capacity at 0.15 mm but retains 5.2:1 gearing and a 69 cm retrieve. Choose by the line diameter and length you need, not the size code alone.

Separate braided-line capacities are supplied for five versions: 1000S, 190 m / 0.20 mm, 2000, 220 m / 0.25 mm, 2000SH, 150 m / 0.10 mm, 3000SH, 80 m / PE0.6, and 4000, 100 m / PE0.6. PE is the supplier's braided-line size designation, not a diameter in millimetres. All versions have a black/gold finish and an aluminium spool. No spare spool is included, so a second preloaded spool is not part of the supplied equipment. The supplier specifies freshwater use, not saltwater suitability.
