Choose MAX4-LP-40 or MAX4-LP-41 LH for the lighter 261 g platform with 220 m of 0.32 mm monofilament capacity and 6.4:1 gearing. MAX4-LP60 and MAX4-LP61 LH hold 270 m at the same diameter and have 5.3:1 gearing, but weigh 368 g and 369 g respectively. The larger platform gives more line reserve at the cost of extra weight.
MAX4-LP-41 LH and MAX4-LP61 LH have left-hand retrieve. MAX4-LP-40 and MAX4-LP60 have right-hand retrieve. Choose the version that lets you wind with your preferred hand, then select the line capacity you need.
Yes. The reels are built for large predator baits, and the supplier also specifies trolling and baitfish fishing. The switchable bait clicker sounds when line leaves the spool, making outgoing line audible in those situations. It is a line-out alarm, not a line counter, so it does not provide a measured trolling distance.
Only the right-hand MAX4-LP60 has a stated retrieve of 75 cm per turn. MAX4-LP-40, MAX4-LP-41 LH and MAX4-LP61 LH are listed at 64 cm per turn. Compare the individual model's retrieve when choosing how much line you want to recover with each handle turn.

The MagTrax™ magnetic casting brake controls the spool during a cast. It serves a different role from the Carbon Matrix drag, which controls line release under load. Four stainless steel HPCR ball bearings and one roller bearing provide smooth running. Duragear™ brass gearing is designed for heavy-duty use with large baits.
