The Abu Garcia Abumatic 170 Syncro is a closed-face spincast reel for light lure fishing for perch, trout, zander and pike. One-touch casting simplifies line release, while the Carbon Matrix(TM) SYNCRO drag system controls line release under load. It is intended for smaller artificial lures and is fished above the rod with the handle on the right.
An aluminium body and front cone enclose the working components. The oscillating Far-cast spool and No-twist line system are designed to limit line twist during casting and retrieval. Dual rotating swing-arm pickup pins collect the line when retrieving. The Duragear(TM) drive has four bearings in total, comprising three ball bearings and one instant anti-reverse roller bearing. Instant anti-reverse prevents backward handle movement.
