It is suitable for KD, blowback and multi rigs. On a multi rig, it offers an alternative to the Choddy hook, with the point facing downwards to grip the lower lip. You receive loose hooks, so the rig still needs to be tied.
No additional shrink tubing is needed for this effect. The curved shape makes the hook turn as the bait is sucked in, usually taking hold in the lower lip. This simplifies that part of rig construction, but does not guarantee that every take will hook a fish.
