Choose the 5500LC for the lowest weight at 590 g. The 6500LC weighs 692 g and retrieves the most line at 107 cm per turn. The 7500LC weighs 790 g, holds 590 m of 0.31 mm mono rather than the 6500LC's 450 m, and raises maximum drag from 20 to 25 kg. Choose it for greater capacity and drag rather than faster pickup.
The sealed body and spool protect the gearbox and drag system from saltwater exposure through waves and spray. The drag washers sit in a fully sealed spool and the stainless steel bearings are sealed. This supports saltwater use, but the supplied rating does not establish suitability for submersion.
No line or spare spool is included with any of these three models. Each has an aluminum spool and a right/left handle position, so it can be set up for either hand. Supply your own line before use, with capacities quoted for monofilament at the stated diameter.
The oscillation system lays line neatly for longer, more accurate casts. Under load, the metal body and sideplate keep the CNC gearing aligned, while HT-100™ carbon fiber washers provide up to 20 kg drag on the 5500LC and 6500LC or 25 kg on the 7500LC. Choose capacity and weight separately from maximum drag, since the two smaller models share the same drag limit.
No. These 5500LCEU, 6500LCEU and 7500LCEU models are the Long Cast versions with front drag and instant anti-reverse. Standard and Live Liner models are mentioned separately by the supplier, so select the separately offered Live Liner version if that is the model you need.

The PENN Spinfisher VII Long Cast is a front-drag spinning reel for saltwater fishing. Its oscillation system lays line neatly on the spool to support longer, more accurate casts. IPX5 sealing protects the body and spool against waves and spray, helping keep saltwater out of the gearbox and drag system.
HT-100™ carbon fiber drag washers sit inside a fully sealed spool and provide the stopping power for large saltwater fish. Maximum drag is 20 kg on the 5500LC and 6500LC, and 25 kg on the 7500LC. The Full Metal Body and sideplate keep the CNC Gear System aligned under heavy loads. CNC Gear Technology uses a brass main gear, and the 5+1 sealed stainless steel bearing system gives six bearings in total.
| Model | Weight | Monofilament capacity | Gear ratio | Retrieve per handle turn | Maximum drag | | :--- | :--- | :--- | :--- | :--- | :--- | | 5500LCEU / 5500LC | 590 g | 325 m of 0.28 mm | 4.8:1 | 91 cm | 20 kg | | 6500LCEU / 6500LC | 692 g | 450 m of 0.31 mm | 4.8:1 | 107 cm | 20 kg | | 7500LCEU / 7500LC | 790 g | 590 m of 0.31 mm | 4.3:1 | 94 cm | 25 kg |
The 5500LC is the lightest option when lower reel weight matters. Choose the 6500LC for the greatest line pickup per turn, with the same maximum drag as the 5500LC. The 7500LC holds 140 m more of the same 0.31 mm monofilament than the 6500LC and offers higher maximum drag, at the cost of 98 g more weight and a slower retrieve. Capacity figures for the 5500LC use a thinner line, so they are not directly comparable at the same diameter.
All three models have an aluminum spool, instant anti-reverse and a handle that can be used on the right or left. They come in Black Gold, without pre-spooled line or a spare spool, so add your own line before fishing. These are the Long Cast versions, not the separately offered standard or Live Liner versions. The supplied IPX5 claim covers waves and spray, not a stated submersion rating.
