The Savage Gear SG8 in size 250 is built for lure anglers who want a compact baitcasting reel for light to medium-heavy predator work. It handles softbaits, crankbaits and jerkbaits with a rigid one-piece aluminium construction, smooth running and well controlled casting.
This reel series is designed for freshwater predator fishing, where one setup may need to cast smaller hardbaits one moment and larger soft lures the next. The size 250 platform gives good all-round capacity and control for pike, zander, perch and other predatory species.
A one-piece EDP painted aluminium frame and side plates help keep the reel stable under load. Savage Gear combines this with DuraGrease, a brass worm shaft and 7+1 steel ball bearings, including two Japanese bearings, for steady rotation and dependable line lay.
The SG8 250 uses an external centrifugal brake, making it easier to fine tune casting performance to lure weight and conditions. Details such as the Line-ID system, drag clicker, stainless reel seat and soft touch handle knobs add day-to-day usability on the water.
