It is monofilament material for tying leaders, particularly for spinning. Its softness and flexibility support lure presentation, while shock absorption cushions forces during the strike and fight, making it useful for knotted lure-fishing leaders.
Diameter and stated breaking strain increase together: 0.37 mm/10 kg, 0.47 mm/15 kg, 0.57 mm/20 kg, 0.62 mm/25 kg, 0.70 mm/30 kg, 0.78 mm/40 kg and 0.87 mm/50 kg. Choose the diameter and rating your setup needs, accepting a thicker leader for a higher rating. Every version supplies 50 m.
The line is easy to work with and has high knot strength, supporting secure knotted connections. Its high abrasion resistance helps it withstand rubbing during fishing, so both leader construction and durability are supported without sacrificing the line's flexibility.

Gamakatsu G-Line Shock Leader is monofilament line for tying leaders, particularly for spinning. Its soft, flexible construction allows lures to move naturally, while its ability to absorb forces helps cushion the strike and the fight. Each version supplies 50 m of leader material.
The line is easy to work with and has high knot strength, supporting secure knotted leader connections. High abrasion resistance helps the leader withstand rubbing during use. These properties combine with the line's flexibility, so handling and lure presentation do not depend on a stiff leader.
All seven versions share the same length and handling properties. The differences are diameter and stated breaking strain:
Diameter | Breaking strain | Supplier's lb rating |
|---|---|---|
0.37 mm | 10 kg | 20 lb |
0.47 mm | 15 kg | 30 lb |
0.57 mm | 20 kg | 40 lb |
0.62 mm | 25 kg | 50 lb |
0.70 mm | 30 kg | 60 lb |
0.78 mm | 40 kg | 80 lb |
0.87 mm | 50 kg | 100 lb |
Choose 0.37 mm or 0.47 mm when a thinner leader with a 10 kg or 15 kg rating meets your setup's requirements. The 0.57 mm and 0.62 mm versions increase the rating to 20 kg and 25 kg. For higher stated breaking strains, choose 0.70 mm, 0.78 mm or 0.87 mm at 30 kg, 40 kg or 50 kg respectively. The trade-off is a larger diameter as breaking strain rises, not a longer supply of line.
