The Salmo Rattlin' Hornet builds on a legendary crankbait design by adding an internal rattle, long-cast SICS system, and premium Mustad KVD Triple Grip hooks. This floating lure delivers strong vibration you can feel at the rod tip and works equally well when cast or trolled.
Fish it like any floating crankbait—irregular retrieves with pauses and light twitches trigger strikes from pike, perch, zander, bass, trout, and walleye. The Rattlin' Hornet performs in rivers and lakes, with or against current, and trolls effectively both weighted and unweighted. Its built-in rattle adds acoustic attraction that draws predators from greater distances.
High-Impact Plastic (HIP) construction and Ultrasonic Body Welding (UBW) ensure durability under repeated strikes and hard contact. Each lure is individually hand-tuned and tank-tested in Poland. Mustad KVD Triple Grip hooks and Rasco split rings deliver secure hooksets and reliable performance season after season.
The Rattlin' Hornet series offers three sizes to match your target species and conditions:
3.5 cm / 3–3.1 g — ultralight setups, small streams, perch, trout, shallow-water finesse (running depth 1–1.8 m)
4.5 cm / 5.5–6 g — all-round crankbait for bass, perch, zander, walleye, and pike in rivers and lakes (running depth 1.8–3.4 m); Green Tiger colour imitates baitfish in stained or vegetated water
5.5 cm / 10.5 g — medium-depth work for larger predators (running depth 2–4 m)
6.5 cm / 20 g — pike, zander, wels catfish, deep trolling or casting (running depth 2.5–5 m)
