The Balzer Matzes Weitwurfsystem (long-range casting system) is a purpose-built deadbait pike trace engineered to keep your baitfish intact through powerful long-distance casts. This size 6 variant is ideal for smaller deadbaits.

Built for Distance Without Sacrificing the Bait

A dedicated single hook is placed in the lip of the deadbait to absorb the casting force, preventing the baitfish from compressing or tearing apart on the throw. On larger baits, this hook can be fully buried in the head — its role is purely mechanical, holding the bait securely during the cast, not hooking the predator.

Two Treble Hooks Do the Catching Work

Once the rig is fishing, the two sharp, robust treble hooks take over as the strike hooks. This division of labour — single hook for casting, trebles for hooking — gives you confidence both in presentation and in strike conversion when a pike moves on the bait.
