The Balzer Shirasu Shallow Rig (Flachwasser System) is a purpose-built softbait rig that lets you fish large rubber fish slowly and naturally through the shallowest zones — over submerged timber, along weed edges, and right in the surface film where big pike lurk.

Designed for Shallow, Snag-Filled Water

Without a jig head weighing it down, the rig allows your softbait to glide at near-surface depth or sink very slowly, making it ideal for situations where a conventional jig would hang up or spook fish. A corkscrew spiral screws securely into the head of the rubber fish, keeping the rig firmly anchored to the bait throughout the retrieve.

Smart Hook System That Protects Your Bait

The treble hooks (size 1/0) are held in position along the belly of the softbait by small spikes, keeping them neatly tucked yet free to swing. On the strike, the hooks are fully mobile and deliver a reliable hook-set into the pike's jaw. During the fight, the spikes release from the bait so only the trebles remain in the fish — meaning your softbait survives the encounter and stays fishable for longer.
