The WFT BC King (Baitcast King) is a left-hand baitcasting reel for heavy lure fishing in fresh and salt water, as well as light to medium sea fishing. Its oversized centrifugal brake controls spool rotation during casting to help prevent overruns, including with lures weighing more than 100 g.
The 5.4:1 gearing uses large teeth to maintain a powerful, smooth retrieve under heavy loads. Bronze and stainless-steel gears, a stainless-steel spool shaft and a one-piece aluminium-alloy frame support this demanding use. The carbon drag controls line release when playing fish. Four Japanese stainless-steel ball bearings and one stainless-steel roller clutch bearing form the five-bearing system. Infinite anti-reverse prevents backward handle rotation.
Line retrieve is 66 cm per handle turn. The long aluminium double handle and oversized handle grips help reduce effort when working large lures. A FLIP button releases the spool into free spool, and an extra-loud free-spool clicker can be switched on when an audible signal is wanted.
