Jigs, softbaits, plugs, spinners and light natural baits are supported within the 12–42 g casting range. Choose the bait and rig weight to stay within that range.
Yes. The supplier specifies shore, pier and boat use for this 254 cm saltwater rod. Its 12–42 g casting range remains the limit for selecting the lure or light bait setup in each situation.
The two-piece rod has a transport length of 130 cm and comes with a neoprene rod bag. Allow space for that packed length when planning travel.
Rinse the guides, reel seat and blank with fresh water after saltwater use. Let the rod dry before storing it straight in the supplied neoprene bag, despite the UV- and saltwater-resistant EVA grip.

The Westin W8 Precision Cast is a two-piece sea fishing rod for lure and light natural-bait fishing from shore, pier or boat. Its responsive Toray® Torayca® T1100GC, T800 & M40JB carbon blank provides feedback for bite detection and controlled lure presentation.
This 254 cm model has a 12–42 g casting weight and MH (Medium Heavy) power. It handles light to medium jigs, softbaits, plugs, spinners and light natural baits within that weight range. The supplier lists sea bass, cod, coalfish, mackerel, garfish, barracuda and tuna as target species. Choose the setup within the stated casting range, which is not a fish-weight rating.
For jigging, work the lure with regular lifts and drops and short pauses. The responsive blank helps transmit bites during this presentation. The supplier suggests a 0.30–0.50 mm fluorocarbon leader according to the target species and also mentions light wire for barracuda or sea bass.
The Fuji® VSS reel seat holds the reel securely under load. Tangle-free Fuji® SIC Gunsmoke stainless-steel guides support smooth line flow during long casts and windy conditions. The stainless-steel hook keeper also has a tangle-free design.
The non-slip EVA grip is UV- and saltwater-resistant for regular marine use. At 124 g, the rod is suited to active lure work. Each rod has an individual serial number.
The two sections pack down to 130 cm, and a neoprene rod bag is included for transport and storage. Rinse the rod with fresh water after saltwater use to remove salt from the guides, reel seat and blank. Let it dry before storing it straight in the bag.
