Choose lures within the 7–25 g casting range. The supplier lists soft plastics, spinners, spoons, jigs and finesse rigs for coastal spinning, so select the lure weight within that rating.
The Fuji® VSS seat takes a spinning reel, with sizes 2500–4000 suggested by the supplier. Its suggested line setup is 0.10–0.16 mm braid (PE 0.6–1.2) with a fluorocarbon leader, with reel size chosen for your method and target fish.
The 257 cm rod separates into two sections with a transport length of 131 cm. A neoprene rod bag is included, so allow space for that packed length in your vehicle or luggage.

The Westin W8 Precision Cast is a saltwater spinning rod for coastal fishing from a pier or boat. Its responsive Toray® T1100GC, T800 and M40JB carbon blank supports accurate casting and direct bite feedback while retaining backbone for playing fish.
This 257 cm rod weighs 112 g and carries the LML (Light-Medium-Light) rating. Its 7–25 g casting range suits light soft plastics, spinners, spoons, jigs and finesse rigs. The supplier identifies sea bass, cod, coalfish, mackerel and garfish as targets, and also mentions barracuda and tuna. Keep lure selection within the stated casting range rather than treating those species mentions as a heavy-tackle rating. Anglers with basic spinning experience can use its feedback to monitor their presentation.
The Fuji® VSS reel seat holds a spinning reel securely. The supplier suggests sizes 2500–4000, chosen to suit the method and target fish. Tangle-free Fuji® SIC Gunsmoke stainless-steel guides support smooth line travel, including with braid. The suggested saltwater setup is 0.10–0.16 mm braid (PE 0.6–1.2) with a fluorocarbon leader.
The non-slip EVA grip resists UV exposure and saltwater for a secure hold at sea. A tangle-free stainless-steel hook keeper provides a place to secure the hook between casts. The two-piece construction reduces transport length to 131 cm, and the supplied neoprene rod bag protects the rod during travel. Each rod has an individual serial number for identification and traceability.
