The Westin W8 Precision Cast is a two-piece sea fishing rod for lure fishing from the coast, piers or a boat. Its light, responsive blank provides direct bite feedback and helps you control light lures, including when wind and current make presentation more demanding.
This version measures 249 cm (8'2") and has a casting weight of 7–25 g, a weight of 109 g and the supplier rating LML (Light-Medium-Light). It suits light artificial lures, spoons and small pirks within that casting range. Its length supports casting distance and lure control from beaches, rocks and piers as well as boats.
The supplier lists sea bass, cod, coalfish, mackerel, garfish, barracuda and tuna as target species. This remains a light-tackle rod rated for 7–25 g, not a specification for heavy offshore tackle.
The blank uses Toray® Torayca® T1100GC, T800 & M40JB and combines sensitive feedback with backbone for playing fish. Tangle-free Fuji® SIC Gunsmoke stainless-steel guides support smooth line flow with either monofilament or braid. Low-profile guide wraps complete the guide assembly.
The Fuji® VSS reel seat provides a secure hold, including with wet hands. The compact EVA grip resists saltwater and ultraviolet light. A corrosion-resistant, tangle-free stainless-steel hook keeper holds the lure between fishing spots.
The two sections pack down to a transport length of 129 cm. A neoprene rod bag is included for transport and storage, and each rod carries an individual serial number for identification.
