It is built for saltwater lure fishing from shore, piers or a boat. The 9-35g rating covers light to medium sea lures, spoons and jigs for species including sea bass, cod and coalfish, so choose lure weights within that range.
The supplier recommends a size 3000-4000 fixed-spool reel with 0.10-0.16 mm braid (PE 0.6-1.2). A fluorocarbon leader is suggested for abrasion protection, providing a starting setup for coastal lure fishing rather than a maximum-load specification.
The 244 cm rod separates into two sections with a 125 cm transport length. A neoprene rod bag is included, so allow room for that packed length when planning storage or travel.

The Westin W8 Precision Cast is a saltwater spinning rod for fishing from the shore, piers or a boat. Its light, responsive Toray® Torayca® T1100GC, T800 and M40JB blank provides bite feedback and supports accurate, long casts, including in wind.
This 244 cm version carries the M (Medium) designation and a 9-35g casting weight for light to medium sea lures, spoons and jigs. It weighs 123 g and is intended for sea bass, cod, coalfish, mackerel, garfish and barracuda. The supplier also mentions tuna within this lure range, but gives no fish-size or fighting-load rating.
The supplier recommends size 3000-4000 fixed-spool reels and 0.10-0.16 mm braid (PE 0.6-1.2). A fluorocarbon leader is suggested for abrasion protection around rocks and fish teeth. These are setup recommendations, not stated maximum load ratings.
The Fuji® VSS reel seat holds the reel securely. The compact EVA grip remains non-slip when wet and is UV- and saltwater-resistant, helping with handling during longer coastal sessions. Fuji® SIC Gunsmoke stainless-steel guides with low-profile wraps resist saltwater, reduce tangles and protect the line.
The two-piece rod packs down to 125 cm and comes with a neoprene rod bag for protected transport. A tangle-free stainless-steel hook keeper secures the lure between uses. Each rod has an individual serial number for identification.
