No, the Net Magnet is a magnetic attachment for an existing landing net. It comes with two carabiners for attachment, so you use it with your own net and release that net via the quick-release mechanism when needed.
The magnet holds a static weight of 5.5 kg. Use that figure to assess the static load of the net you want to attach, not as a fish-weight rating for your landing net.
Yes, the Net Magnet is saltwater resistant, so its net-holding and quick-release functions can also be used on coastal fishing trips. Its stated holding capacity remains a static load of 5.5 kg.

The Westin Net Magnet is a magnetic landing net attachment designed to work with your existing net. It holds the net securely while you fish, then lets you disconnect it using the quick-release mechanism when you need to land a fish.
This Black version holds a static weight of 5.5 kg. This figure describes the magnet's static holding load, not the size of fish your net can land. The attachment weighs 60 g.
Two supplied carabiners provide the attachment points for connecting the magnet to your setup. The quick-release mechanism allows you to detach the net when it is needed. This is an accessory for an existing net, not a complete landing net.
The Net Magnet is saltwater resistant, making it suitable for coastal fishing as well. Its materials are designed for durability during repeated fishing use.
