The Westin W8 FINESSE SHAD 2ND is a spinning rod for fishing with shads. Its Toray® Torayca® T1100GC & M40JB carbon blank combines casting performance with sensitivity, helping you feel lure feedback and set the hook even at longer range. The low-weight construction suits repeated casting and active lure work.
This model is 223 cm long, rated MH (medium-heavy), and has a casting weight of 10–28 g. It weighs 128 g. Westin recommends a size 2500–3000 spinning reel for balance, giving you a clear starting point when choosing a reel.
Tangle-free Fuji® SIC guides help limit line tangles during casting. The Fuji® T2C carbon reel seat holds the reel, with a custom-designed 360° screw-down carbon hood. A Seaguide® Arc Hook 2.5 hook keeper provides a place to secure the hook between fishing spots. The blank has an FE2O3 iron oxide colour, and each rod carries a unique serial number.
The two-section rod packs down to 123 cm, so check this length against your rod storage space. A neoprene rod bag is supplied for protection during transport, together with a recyclable triangular cardboard box.
