Built from high-quality Japanese Torayca® (Toray Carbon Fiber) blanks, the W4 Powerlure 2nd Generation is the go-to spinning rod for anglers who spend long days working large lures and shads at big predators.
The Torayca® High Performance Carbon blank delivers a fast action that loads quickly for long casts, yet retains enough through-action to telegraph bites and cushion the fight. The blank is reinforced with 1k woven carbon for added stiffness and torsional strength where it matters most.
A Fuji® VSS reel seat locks your reel firmly in place, while LTS ring guides keep line friction low even when casting heavy lures all day. The UltraGrip EVA handle and custom-made non-slip rubber bottom cap give a secure, comfortable hold in wet conditions, and a D-Ring hook keeper keeps your terminal rig tidy between casts.
All three W4 Powerlure 2nd rods share the same 2.4 m (8 ft) two-piece build and Torayca® carbon blank. Select the casting weight that matches your lure range and target species:
W4 Powerlure 2nd 240 cm H 20–60 g — Fast action, 280 g rod weight. Ideal for medium-sized lures (shads 14–20 cm, hard baits, lighter spoons) targeting pike and perch in rivers and lakes.
W4 Powerlure 2nd 240 cm XH 25–80 g — XH action, 283 g rod weight. Steps up for heavier shads and larger swimbaits; suited to bigger pike and zander in open water.
W4 Powerlure 2nd 240 cm XXH 30–100 g — Fast action, 280 g rod weight. Maximum casting weight for the biggest lures, heavy jigs, and outsized pike or saltwater predators.
