This light, sensitive casting rod is designed for topwater predator fishing with baitcasting reels in shallow freshwater. Its fast tip action helps work poppers and walking surface stickbaits, while the sensitive blank transmits bites for a prompt hook-set.
Use Spot-On Poppers, other poppers or walk-the-dawg surface stickbaits within the 5–21 g casting range. Westin names perch, chub, asp, bass, trout and small pike as targets. The supplementary supplier also lists zander. A size 50 Westin BaitCaster reel is the manufacturer's recommended match.
The Torayca® High Performance Carbon blank combines low weight with sensitivity for active lure work. A Carbon SKC-LS reel seat holds the reel, Seaguide® TUXOLSG guides carry the line and a high-quality EVA handle provides the gripping surface. The Seaguide® TUHOOK#4 hook keeper gives the hook a dedicated attachment point between casts.
