The Westin W2 Boat is a purpose-built 3-piece boat rod designed to handle demanding saltwater situations with confidence, from wreck fishing for conger to dropping lures for halibut and cod.
The blank is constructed from 24/30 tonne High Performance Carbon, combining the backbone needed to subdue powerful fish with enough sensitivity to feel what's happening below the surface. The XH (Extra Heavy) action in this 2.1 m rod handles a wide casting weight range of 150–400 g, making it equally capable with heavy pirks, large shads, or deep-sea jigs.
Long sessions from a boat demand gear that won't wear you down. The premium EVA handle offers a secure, comfortable grip even with wet hands or gloves, while the specially designed Comfort Cross Gimbal (CCG) integrates cleanly with a rod holder or belt gimbal for controlled fights against heavy fish. Seaguide® SXEOG premium guides keep line running smoothly under pressure, and the Seaguide® DPS reel seat locks your reel firmly in place. At 347 g, the balance is well-suited for sustained jigging or working heavy lures throughout the day.
The W2 Boat 3-piece 2.1 m range covers two power ratings to match your target species and typical lure weights:
W2 Boat 2.1 m XH 150–400 g 3pc (347 g) — the current rod; ideal for cod, halibut, and conger using pirks and heavy jigs in the 150–400 g range; suits most North Sea and Atlantic wreck or reef scenarios
W2 Boat 2.1 m XXH 200–600 g 3pc (352 g) — steps up to a heavier XXH power for deeper water, stronger tides, or larger target species requiring lures and weights up to 600 g
