It suits softbait jigging for zander, finesse jigging for perch and lighter softbaits for pike. Its casting range is 12–38 g, so choose presentations within that range. The sensitive blank helps you detect bottom contact and tentative takes in rivers and lakes.
Yes. The supplier supports drop-shot fishing and other finesse methods, particularly for perch along ledges and drop-offs. A sensitive tip and powerful backbone provide feedback and hook-setting support. Keep your setup within the stated 12–38 g casting range.
A fixed-spool reel in size 1500–2500 is recommended. The carbon-fibre-reinforced Fuji TCH reel seat keeps weight down, and this size range is intended to balance the rod for sensitive lure work.
The 274 cm rod separates into two sections with a packed length of 149 cm. Allow at least that length in your transport space. A Cordura rod bag with a 3K carbon-look polyurethane leather cover and velvet backing is included for protection during transport and storage.
The individual serial number enables registration for Westin's W10 extended blank warranty. Check the terms on Westin's website before registering, as the supplier does not specify coverage or duration here.

The Westin W10 Finesse Shad 2nd is a spinning rod for finesse lure fishing for zander, perch and pike in rivers and lakes. Its sensitive Torayca® T1100G+M46X+'Nanoalloy® 55Ton' carbon blank transmits bottom contact and tentative takes, while the responsive tip and powerful backbone support lure control, hook-setting and playing fish.
This 274 cm model has a 12–38 g casting range and an XH (Extra Heavy) power rating. It is suited to jigging softbaits for zander in current, finesse jigging and drop-shot fishing for perch along ledges and drop-offs, and lighter softbaits for pike within its casting range. The blank's recovery and feedback help you follow the lure near the bottom and detect small changes in pressure.
The rod weighs 137 g. A G-Hyper Neo Carbon and cork handle provides ergonomic support and leverage during repeated lure work. The Fuji® TCH reel seat uses carbon-fibre-reinforced plastic to keep weight down, with a high-strength aluminium 360° screw closure. The recommended fixed-spool reel size is 1500–2500 for a balanced setup. A non-slip Neo rubber-cork gimbal supports secure handling at the butt.
Fuji® Titanium Torzite® K guides combine low weight with reduced line friction and an anti-tangle design. The guide wraps are specified as CR. A Seaguide® stainless-steel DHOOK hook keeper gives you a dedicated place to secure the hook between casts or while moving.
The two sections use a four-axis and 1K carbon-reinforced spigot joint to maintain sensitivity and power transfer across the connection. Packed length is 149 cm, so check that your transport space accommodates this length. The supplied Cordura rod bag has a 3K carbon-look polyurethane leather cover and velvet backing for transport and storage protection.
Rinse the rod with fresh water after use and store it dry. Inspect the guides regularly for damage that could wear the line.
Each rod has an individual serial number for registration for Westin's W10 extended blank warranty. Check Westin's website for the applicable warranty terms before registering.
