It is intended for predator fishing, including perch, zander, pike and asp. This Redtail Chub version has a 3.5 g weight and a size 2/0 hook, so check those specifications against your intended setup rather than choosing by target fish alone.
The oversized, flat aspirin-shaped head promotes darting and rolling movement when jigged. The long bucktail fibers keep a slim profile and add lifelike action, so jigging activates the head movement while the dressing complements it.
Use pliers or a hook remover to handle the sharp hook, secure it when not in use and store it dry in a protective box. Check it for damage and rust before fishing, and stop using it if damaged or corroded. Keep it away from unsupervised children and pets to reduce the risk of injury or swallowing.

The VMC MOONTAIL JIG 7158 is a bucktail jig for predator fishing, including perch, zander, pike and asp. Its oversized, flat aspirin-shaped head promotes darting and rolling movement when jigged. The long bucktail dressing adds lifelike action while retaining a slim profile, making the head movement and fiber movement work together during the presentation.
The flat head shape supports an active jigging presentation rather than relying on the dressing alone for movement. The elongated bucktail fibers hold their shape in the water. Extra-large holographic 3D eyes add a realistic visual detail to the lure.
The Technical Locking Curve (TLC) hook shape is designed to improve hook sets and hold the fish securely after the strike. The hook has a BN (Black Nickel) coating.
The Redtail Chub version weighs 3.5 g and has a size 2/0 hook. It is supplied as a pack of two jigs. These are the weight and hook size to check when selecting the jig for your setup.
Handle the sharp hook with pliers or a hook remover and keep it secured when not in use. Check for damage, bent points and rust before fishing, and do not use damaged or corroded hooks. Ensure the connection to the line is secure and keep other people and animals clear when casting. Store the jig dry in a protective box and keep it away from unsupervised children and pets. Use it only for fishing in accordance with local rules, including any restrictions on jig-head metals, and do not leave tackle or packaging in nature.
