The VMC 7122AH Cast & Slow Assist Hook is an assist hook for casting jigs and slow jigging in saltwater. Its assist braid has a fluorocarbon core to reduce tangling during the cast and improve the hook-up ratio. The spliced leader helps present the hook at the lure and supports better bite conversion.
The supplier rates the assist braid at approximately 81.6 kg and the core material at approximately 3.6 kg. These are component ratings, not a breaking strain for the complete hook assembly. UV tinsel makes the hook more visible underwater and adds a visual attraction to the lure.
The Vanadium® steel hook has a Super Long Needle Sharp™ point and a micro barb. Its CT (Coastal PTFE) coating supports penetration and corrosion resistance for sea fishing. VMC states up to 50% faster penetration and up to five times the corrosion resistance compared with a standard PTFE coating.
