It holds a stinger treble on a soft plastic shad, soft jig or other softbait. Screw the rear spiral into the lure and place the treble against the magnet, leaving all three hook points exposed instead of embedding them in the soft plastic.
The treble releases from the magnet on a bite or during the fight. Because the hook does not tear out of the soft plastic, lure damage is reduced. After the fight, simply place the treble back against the magnet to restore its position.
