It is intended for carp and other coarse fish on lakes and flowing waters. The 50 mm dual-density foam and padded, semi-rigid walls provide a cushioned compartment for unhooking larger fish at the bank.
Yes, its coated base and double waterproof protective layer make it buoyant. It can therefore be used in the water for releasing fish and taking catch photographs, rather than only as an unhooking surface on the bank.
It measures 104 x 63 x 19 cm open and 63 x 50 x 22 cm closed. The folding mechanism and safety zip secure it in the folded format, so use the closed dimensions to check your transport and storage space.
The mat has side carry handles and side buckles for attachment to an Xtractor rucksack. When folded, its inner compartment can carry items, allowing it to serve as a small transport bag as well as a mat.

The Sonik Xtractor Folding Cradle is an unhooking mat for carp and other coarse fish on lakes and flowing waters. Its 50 mm dual-density foam base cushions the fish, while padded, semi-rigid sidewalls provide protection around the inner compartment when unhooking larger fish.
The coated base and double waterproof protective layer allow the mat to float. This supports use in the water when releasing fish or taking catch photographs, as well as its role as a padded unhooking surface.
The mat measures 104 x 63 x 19 cm when open and 63 x 50 x 22 cm when closed. The folding mechanism folds it in half, and a safety zip secures the folded format for transport and storage. Check both sets of dimensions against the space available at your swim and in your luggage.
When folded, the inner compartment can hold items for the walk to the bank, so the mat also serves as a small carry bag. Side carry handles aid transport, and side buckles allow attachment to an Xtractor rucksack.
The main outer fabric is 100% polyester with a 100% polyvinyl chloride (PVC) coating. The padding and filling comprise 55% polyethylene and 45% polyurethane. Together with the 50 mm foam and padded walls, these form the mat's protective construction.
