It is designed for large freshwater lures, including swimbaits, shads, spinnerbaits, bucktail spinners, gliders and jerkbaits. This version is rated for 90–190 g, so select lures within that range for its intended heavy-lure use.
It has a moderate-fast action and Extra Extra Extra Heavy power. The powerful blank is designed to cast heavy and extra-heavy lures and control large fish, making this a heavy pike-lure setup rather than a light-lure rod.
The 2.59 m rod separates into two pieces and has a transport length of 134 cm. Check that your storage or vehicle accommodates this length before choosing it.

The Savage Gear SG4 Tuff Game Specialist BC (baitcasting) is a freshwater lure rod for fishing large artificial lures for powerful fish, including pike. Its powerful blank and moderate-fast action are designed to cast heavy and extra-heavy lures and provide control when playing large fish.
This 2.59 m version has a 90–190 g lure rating and Extra Extra Extra Heavy power. Choose lure weights within that range for the intended heavy-lure setup. Suitable lure types include swimbaits, shads, spinnerbaits, bucktail spinners, gliders and jerkbaits, so its use is not limited to a single lure style.
A full rear handle and long front handle provide a secure, comfortable grip when casting heavy lures and playing fish. The blank material is specified as 30Ton, and Seaguide guides carry the line along the rod. The rod weighs 242 g.
The two-piece construction reduces the 2.59 m fishing length to a transport length of 134 cm. Use this packed length when checking whether it fits your rod storage or vehicle.
