It is designed for pike and zander with heavy artificial lures. The 60–180 g casting range covers large swimbaits, shads, gliders, jerkbaits, spinnerbaits and bucktail spinners, making lure weight the key check when choosing your setup.
The full rear grip and long foregrip provide a secure hold for distance casting and working bulky lures. This grip layout is useful when repeatedly casting and retrieving large spinnerbaits or bucktail spinners.
The 2.46 m rod separates into two sections with a transport length of 130 cm and weighs 208 g. A competition-ready rod bag is included, so allow space for the stated packed length when planning storage or travel.
No specific line rating is supplied. The 60–180 g figure describes casting weight, not line strength, so check the markings on the rod before selecting your line.
No. The supplier describes freshwater fishing for pike and zander and does not confirm saltwater suitability. Choose this rod for its stated freshwater applications rather than assuming it is intended for sea fishing.

The Savage Gear Alpha SG4 Monster is a two-piece spinning rod for large-lure fishing for pike and zander in freshwater. Its Japanese Torayca 30T blank has a moderate-fast action, providing the power transmission needed to work heavy lures and control large fish.
At 2.46 m with a casting weight of 60–180 g, this model is intended for heavy and extra-heavy lure work rather than light presentations. Supported lure types include swimbaits, shads, gliders, jerkbaits, spinnerbaits and bucktail spinners. The supplier also identifies pike fishing around groynes and jigging heavy shads for zander in current as intended applications.
A full rear grip and long foregrip provide a secure hold for distance casting and working bulky lures. SeaGuide CCS stainless steel guides with SiN inserts provide low-friction line guidance. The SeaGuide Alien Lock Down reel seat holds the reel securely during demanding retrieves and fights.
The rod weighs 208 g and breaks down into two sections with a transport length of 130 cm. A competition-ready rod bag is included for protected transport. No specific line rating is supplied, so check the markings on the rod when matching your line. The stated use is freshwater, and saltwater suitability is not confirmed.
