The 2.21 m rod separates into two sections and has a transport length of 118 cm. A competition-ready rod bag is included, so allow room for the 118 cm packed length when choosing your transport arrangement.
It is intended for pike and zander with lures weighing 40–130 g, including large swimbaits, gliders, jerkbaits, heavy shads, spinnerbaits and bucktail spinners. Choose it for heavy-lure presentations, including zander jigging, rather than light lures below 40 g.
The action combines give under load with a powerful backbone for heavy lures and hooksets. Compared with a fast tip action, it provides more cushioning during the fight, making it suited to the stated heavy-lure use rather than a purely tip-focused response.
The SeaGuide Alien Lock Down reel seat is described as suitable for common medium to large spinning reels. For heavy-lure fishing, the supplier recommends 0.20–0.30 mm braid and a strong steel leader for pike. These are setup recommendations, not a stated rod line rating.
The full rear grip and long foregrip offer several holding positions. This lets you change your hand position between twitching jerkbaits and slower bucktail retrieves, which is useful during prolonged lure work. The rod itself weighs 186 g.

The Savage Gear Alpha SG4 Monster is a two-piece spinning rod for heavy lure fishing for pike and zander. Its Moderate-Fast action combines cushioning during the fight with the backbone needed to work large lures and set the hook. The Japanese Torayca 30T carbon blank transmits force when casting, retrieving and playing fish.
This version measures 2.21 m and has a casting weight of 40–130 g. It is intended for large swimbaits, gliders, jerkbaits, heavy shads and other softbaits, as well as spinnerbaits and bucktail spinners. Applications include jigging heavy softbaits along drop-offs for zander, twitching jerkbaits for pike and trolling bucktail spinners. It is not intended for light-lure work below 40 g.
The Moderate-Fast action offers more give under load than a fast tip action, helping cushion fish during the fight while retaining power for hooksets. It suits anglers deliberately choosing heavy lures rather than a light, all-purpose setup.
SeaGuide CCS stainless steel guides with SiN inserts provide low-friction line guidance. The SeaGuide Alien Lock Down reel seat holds the spinning reel securely under load. The supplier describes compatibility with common medium to large spinning reels.
For heavy-lure fishing, the supplier recommends braided line of 0.20–0.30 mm, combined with a strong steel leader when targeting pike. This is a setup recommendation, not a stated line-rating limit for the rod.
A continuous rear grip and a long foregrip offer different holding positions when working heavy lures. This allows you to vary your grip between active jerkbait retrieves and slower bucktail presentations. The rod weighs 186 g.
The two-piece design reduces the transport length to 118 cm. A competition-ready rod bag is included, so the supplied bag and the packed length can be considered when planning transport to the water.
